Results in 2020

 

We knew that the actions that we had planned for 2020 would have a positive effect on the positioning of the site, but the results have exceeded our expectations; especially in a year of maximum instability due to the outbreak of covid-19.

With regard to the growth of the sessions, organic, we closed the year with an increase of 14.5%. This percentage esmenor that registered the previous year, but is explained by a pandemic world that has generated significant fluctuations of traffic and conversions on virtually all websites.

But if the growth in sessions organic is already by itself a sufficient argument to be optimistic, to have maintained a income level similar to that of 2019 you must be interpreted as a great news in a year where many competitors have decreased.

Educaweb: what it is and how it all began

Educaweb is the portal specializing in education, orientation and training of larger audience in Spain.

What we did to achieve our goals

Despite the fact that the expectations at the beginning of the year were boosted by the results achieved in 2019, the emergence of the covid mid-February and all that behaved afterwards, we had, on the one hand, correct our estimates for the current year and, on the other, to introduce changes in our strategy to achieve the intended goals.

The bet for the online training was one of the mainstays of this new strategy in so much that, after a thorough analysis on the evolution of the main types of courses and trends of the society in general, we realized that the interest was shifting to this type of training. In this way, were carried out improvements at the level of bound internal, and content with the objective to collect more relevance to searches relating to ‘keyword+online’, which increased the volume of visits to this type of training courses.

 

At mid-year and driven by the exceptional situation created by the covid-19 began to bet on the online training, until then a minority. The changes introduced in the site allowed us to gain more relevance to the search type ‘keyword+online’.

 

The announcement by Google that in 2021 it would launch a new update to its algorithm where it would give more weight to the indicators related to the experience of users (known as a Core Web Vitals) also it forced us to modify our strategy. Since then, the optimization of the pages to offer a performance of load and performance suitable the current standards has become an obsession for us, that persists even in these early stages of 2021. Balance of 2020
